United States: Many of the world’s richest people – including major Trump supporter and conservative donor Miriam Adelson and Tesla and SpaceX owner Elon Musk – have invested tens of millions of dollars into political organizations in the last few months in a bid to support Trump’s presidency, according to new filings made with the federal government on Tuesday.

Elon Musk, the current world’s richest man, donated almost USD 75 million to a get-trump super PAC that he supported this summer, identifying as a potential strategy toward swing states.
Adelson, a die-hard Trump supporter and gambling magnate, contributed even more, pouring USD 95m into another outside group supporting the former president, FEC disclosures for the three months through September 30 showed, CNN News reported.
Combined, only three billionaires – Musk, Adelson, and Midwestern packaging titan Richard Uihlein – contributed about USD 220 million over a three-month period to organizations supporting the Republican’s bid.
These huge figures show how billionaire megadonors are contributing to Trump’s campaign to overtake his Democratic counterpart, Kamala Harris, as the contest heats up.
Milestone achieved by Harris
Harris has crisscrossed the country and pulled in USD 1 billion in campaign contributions since she became the Democrats’ chief nominee for president in late July but has not been matched by any other presidential candidate.
In fact, filings made on Tuesday reveal that a mammoth fundraising committee that transfers cash to her campaign, as well as other approved Democratic committees, received USD 633 million in the third quarter, quadruple the amount that was donated to Trump’s similar fundraising apparatus in the same period, CNN News reported.
